Tynerum is the demon homeland, where war and chaos rules. Tynerum is only accessible through the Dimensional Mirror, which leads to Crimsonheart Castle, where several demon children are being held as prisoners to be sacrificed.

KMS Canon[]

For centuries, the pure-bloods of Tynerum conducted experiments to steal the powers of a Transcendent, but the resulting failure turned their home into a desolate wasteland. The Demon and Damien were both born in Tynerum, though the Demon would later bring his family to Maple World in order to escape their brutal life. Similarly, many other half-blood demons fled Tynerum in search of a better life, though they were eventually forced out of Maple World by humans after the Demon served as a Commander of the Black Mage.

In Tynerum, Damien and the peaceful half-bloods were condemned to a brutal life of slavery for centuries until Damien united them under his banner and marched out of Tynerum in order to conquer Maple World for themselves and turn it into a new home. However, Damien was ultimately defeated, and his soldiers returned back to Tynerum in shame, resigned to their fates.

During the events of Crimsonheart Castle, a powerful magician named Ridley, who had embedded his consciousness into a statue, sent a message to Maple World through the Grand Athenaeum in order to send help for the pure-blood demon children who were about to be sacrificed. Upon receiving his message, Grendel the Really Old sent a traveler to help the demon children escape.

Overseas Canon[]

Before the removal of Dawnveil, Tynerum was part of the continent of Dawnveil and was home to Shadow Veil Forest, where Hilla cast a curse on the spirit tree known as Gollux, turning it into a monstrosity. After being freed from Crimsonheart Castle, the demon children called the traveler who rescued them back to Tynerum in order to help them lift the curse on the forest by defeating Gollux.

With the removal of Dawnveil, the overseas lore about Tynerum has been deleted from the game, synchronizing overseas lore about Tynerum with that of KMS. The backstory about Gollux was adapted to instead fit into the lore about Masteria and Phantom Forest.

Trivia[]

  • Outside GMS, Tynerum is known as Masteria (마스테리아, Maseuteria):
    • In GMS, Masteria is an overseas exclusive area with its own unique lore. GMS' version of Masteria predates the existence of Tynerum as a whole. When KMS created the idea of the demon homeland, the name 'Masteria' was used from GMS, along with many of its assets. As a result, KMS' version of Masteria has many NPCs, maps, and monsters from GMS Masteria, including Ridley, Crimsonwood Keep, and the corrupted guild monsters.
    • In order to integrate KMS Masteria into GMS, the demon homeland was renamed to Tynerum in order to distinguish it from the original GMS Masteria. KMS' Crimsonwood Keep theme dungeon was also renamed to Crimsonheart Castle in order to distinguish it from the pre-existing Crimsonwood Keep in GMS Masteria.
    • After the Glory update, GMS updated many of the assets for Masteria, leaving Tynerum to have the pre-Glory aesthetic.
  • In overseas canon, Dawnveil was released in JMS, CMS, GMS, and TMS, which released Tynerum alongside Commerci Republic and Arboren. Dawnveil was accessible from the bottom part of Maple World's world map, and was assumed to be the "hidden" part of Maple World. However, Dawnveil's world map was removed during the Heroes of Maple patch.
  • Tynerum is said to be a separate dimension from Maple World. However, this has created ambiguity with Earth in regard to which is the third world created by the Overseers alongside Maple World and Grandis:
    • Like Maple World and Grandis, Tynerum has its own Goddess - the Goddess of Tynerum. While Earth does not possess its own Goddess, the Heroes of Maple blockbuster revealed that Earth had once been the same world as Maple World, similar to Grandis.
    • Earth is also merging back with Maple World, just like how Grandis has fused with Maple World.
    • Additionally, Reverse City is present in the Vanishing Journey, along with elements from Maple World and Grandis, as the Arcane River is a phenomenon representing the convergence of the three worlds. However, there are no elements from Tynerum seen here.
    • Whereas Earth is suggested to have the White Mage as a Transcendent, the demons of Tynerum were said to have conducted experiments to steal the powers of an unknown Transcendent, though it remains unknown whether this Transcendent belonged to Tynerum.
