Potential[]

PotentialItem

An item with potential, unrevealed (left) and revealed (right)

Potential, often referred to as Potential Lines are bonuses that can be applied to most types of equipment. Equipment dropped from mobs and bosses can drop with potential applied, and show a visible shining light on their sprite when dropped on the ground. Alternatively, equipment without any potential can have potential added using any of the Potential Scroll items. Equipment typically starts with the potential hidden, which will have a red outline surrounding its sprite in the inventory and will not provide any additional bonuses if equipped. Potential can be revealed by pressing the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the inventory, and then selecting the equipment and paying a meso fee.

Once revealed, the potential is displayed at the bottom of the equipment tooltip. Potential itself consists of up to three lines of random stat bonuses. If the equipment has fewer than three lines, additional lines can be added using either the Silver Potential Stamp or Gold Potential Stamp items. Players should note that stamps will not add lines if the equipment does not have potential at all.

Potential is divided into four ranks of increasing power, denoted by the outline around the item sprite in the inventory.

  • Rare equipment has a blue outline
  • Epic equipment has a purple outline
  • Unique equipment has a yellow outline
  • Legendary equipment has a green outline

Potential lines draw from a set pool of bonuses, divided amongst these tiers. An equipment of any given rank can possess a potential line drawn from that tier's pool, or from any of the lower-tier pools, I.E. an Epic-rank equip can possess potential lines from the Epic-rank pool or from the Rare-rank pool.

Players can use Cubes to change the equipment's potential. Using a cube will randomize all three lines of an equipment's potential. Additionally, the cube's UI will contain a number at the bottom, detailing how much damage the player has gained or lost from the reset. Cubes also have a small chance of ranking up the potential by one or two ranks, depending on which type of cube is used.

Bonus Potential[]

BonusPotentialItem

An item with both potential and bonus potential on it

Bonus Potential is a secondary system that functions identically to the potential system. Bonus Potential lines are drawn from separate pools, but otherwise share the same concepts:

  • Bonus potential is divided into four tiers ranked Rare/Epic/Unique/Legendary
  • Bonus potential can be added to a piece of equipment using a Bonus Potential Scroll
  • Additional lines of bonus potential can be added using a Bonus Potential Stamp
  • Bonus potential can be reset using cubes, such as the Bonus Mystical Cube or the Bonus Bright Cube

Bonus potential is completely separate from and stacks with regular potential; a piece of equipment can have one, both, or neither of either system.
